Travers & Keogh has been serving the people of Armadale, Kelmscott and surrounding suburbs since 1953. Established by Peter Travers as Greif & Travers, Travers & Keogh is now run by Peter's daughter, Helen Keogh. Travers & Keogh offers a range of professional legal services.
Helen Keogh - Principal
Helen has been with the firm since the 1980s, taking over the practice upon the
retirement of her father, Peter Travers. Helen completed her law
degree at the University of Western Australia in 1999. Prior to practicing
law Helen worked as a Social Worker. Helen also has a bachelor degree
in anthropology and a Masters of Philosophy.
Helen is married and a mother of 5 five children.
Administrative Team
In March 1952 Peter Travers was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Western Australia. In 1953 Mr Travers purchased the legal practice of Mr C Greif and the firm called Greif & Travers practiced our of Warwick House at 63 St Georges Terrace, Perth. It was in 1953 that Mr Travers commenced visiting the Armadale area with an office established on Jull St, Armadale.
In 1962 the practice moved to the T&G Building in Perth on the corner of St Georges Terrace and Barrack Street in Perth. In 1965 Mr Travers amalgamated his practice with that of Mr J Picton-Warlow at Victoria House on St Georges Terrace, Perth.
In 1970 the partnership with Mr Picton-Warlow was dissolved and the practice moved to offices on Gilwell Avenue, Kelmscott while maintaining a branch office on Howard Street in Perth.
In 1974 Mr H Kremer joined the firm as a partner, forming Travers & Kremer, which was then expanded a few years later with the addition of Mr G Wells, forming Travers, Kremer & Wells. By 1975 the firm has a branch office operating at 2304 Albany Highway, Gosnells.
In 1983 the partnership of Travers, Kremer & Wells was dissolved and the Kelmscott office closed. Travers & Wells, continued practicing from the Gosnells office.
In 1993, P Travers & Associates as it was by then known, moved out of the Gosnells premises and relocated to 1 Fancote Street, Kelmscott. In 2000 Mr Travers' daughter, Mrs Helen Keogh joined the practice as an articled clerk at the current address of Unit 14, 2756 Albany Highway, Kelmscott. Travers & Keogh was formed with Mrs Keogh joining the firm in 2002.
Travers & Keogh is now run by Mrs Keogh, after Mr Travers retired from practice.
